Rishabh Pant joins Indian cricket team’s training session ahead of Asia Cup 2023
Rishabh Pant has been in recovery mode for the last 8 months but is expected sooner rather than later
Prior to the Asia Cup 2023, Rishabh Pant recently paid a surprise visit to Team India’s training facility in Alur, Karnataka. The Indian team has been assembling recently and is now finishing up its preparations to compete in the continental competition. Pant is now making a return after a terrible vehicle accident last year. He is now receiving rehabilitation at Bengaluru’s National Cricket Academy. Before their flight to Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup, the 25-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman travelled from Bengaluru to Alur to catch up with his colleagues.
Rishabh Pant was seen introducing himself to his colleagues and laughing with them in a video posted on Instagram by the Indian Cricket Team. After his vehicle accident in the early hours of December 30, this is the first time Pant has been seen with the Indian players. Team India captioned the post after posting the vide on their social media handles, “Look who joined #TeamIndia’s training session in Alur ? Hello there @rishabpant ?,”
It’s important to note that Pant is recuperating quicker than anticipated. He has already begun practising in the nets but will need a few more months before returning to play. The player from Delhi is probably going to miss the ODI World Cup, which begins on October 5 and will be played on home soil. He has already missed a number of crucial games for the Men in Blue, notably India’s defeat to Australia in the World Test Championship final.

“Pant’s comeback is quite far away as of now” : Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra, a former Indian batsman, predicted that Rishabh Pant might require more time to get back to full strength even though he would be facing 140 kph bowlers.
The former Team India opener said that, “Rishabh Pant had posted a video where Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul were seen batting after a long time. Now his videos have come from which it seems he is coming back. He has started batting against the bowling machine. He has started playing against 140 kph but Pant’s comeback is quite far away as of now.”
