Former Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja’s ongoing tussle with the board refuses to die down. Every new day brings a new chapter to the controversy as both sides refuse to back down resulting in a mockery of the board.

Raja has raised questions about the process that brought Najam Sethi as the new chairman while the board has pointed questions at Raja’s mishandling of Pakistan cricket which has resulted in the team performing poorly.

A new question is also being asked by Raja’s misuse of the funds that were meant for Pakistan cricket. One porter asked why the former player had asked for a PKR 1.65 Crore bulletproof car from the board.

“That car is with PCB. I didn’t buy that. My successor can also use it. I received death threat. You can’t get a bullet-proof car until you face a death threat. That’s why I had it,” Ramiz Raja clarified about the car.

There was a whole report made- Raja

He however refused to clarify further but was insistent on the validity of the car and the expenditure of PCB’s money.

“I can’t reveal the details about it (the threat). But it has been there since Australia came to Pakistan in March 2022. DIG sahab came to my home, there was a whole report that was made. That’s why I bought it,” said the former PCB chairman.

It has been a heartbreaking year for the Babar Azam-led team as they lost in the final of the Asia Cup 2022 as well as the 20-20 Cricket World Cup in Australia. To make it worse, they were also whitewashed by the England Test team that visited Pakistan after 17 years.

All of these and many other issues going on behind the curtains has pushed Ramiz Raja to the side and he seems to have not taken in lying down.
