‘Ram ke chole chature aa gaye’ – Virat Kohli gets super excited as his once-a-year cheat meal arrives during 2nd BGT Test in Delhi

Local boy Virat Kohli did not have the best outing in the 2nd Test match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Delhi. The batter was given out LBW in the first innings in a very controversial decision. However, the former team captain had something to cheer about on Day 2 of the match.
The 34-year-old is well-known for his fitness and the precautions he takes to stay healthy. He had turned vegan a few years ago and always takes good care of his nutrition. However, he also has a once-a-year cheat day, where he eats Chole Bhature from his favourite stall in Delhi.
With the Test match against Australia being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, it was natural that he would order some delicious food from his favourite place. A video of the same has gone viral on the internet.
In the video, Virat was in a deep conversation with team head coach Rahul Dravid when a support staff member interrupted him to inform him that his order had arrived. The veteran cricketer got super excited about it and got utterly zoned out from his conversation with Dravid.

In the meantime, Kohli appeared to be poised to pose a threat to Australia in the first innings of the second Test. He scored 44 runs off 84 balls, including four boundaries. His dismissal off debutant Matthew Kuhnemann’s bowling, on the other hand, has sparked heated debate.
Kuhnemann bowled a straight delivery onto Virat‘s stumps in the 50th over of India’s batting innings that did not turn much. The batter was called out but immediately reviewed the decision. The ball appeared to have taken the inside edge off Kohli’s bat. However, there was no conclusive evidence as to whether the ball took the edge or directly struck the pad.
The Third Umpire Nitin Menon was convinced that the ball struck the pad first and ruled in favour of the bowler. According to law 36.2.2 of the MCC, “if the ball makes contact with the striker’s person and bat simultaneously, this shall be considered as the ball having first touched the bat.”
