PGL Major European RMRs breaks all previous viewership records
A recent report from Esports charts reveals that European RMRs this year peaked at around 4 lakh viewers, breaking previous records. This is all thanks to the hype around the first Counter-Strike 2 Major.
Even the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice reach almost one million viewers. Not only the viewership, but players are also enjoying the game itself. CS2 currently boasts over a million players every day.
Those who love the game are sure to see the gameplay of pros for entertainment and even learn new things. This year is already starting strong and will hopefully break more records from the past.
Various factors affecting viewership
Aside from all issues, Counter-Strike is one of the most fun games to watch. Esports as a whole is making huge progress in terms of fanbase. It is no surprise that the game has more fans compared to last year.
Team Spirit has been making waves in the CS community recently, and it is partly thanks to them. Fans are hearing the achievements of players like donk and tuning in to see him play. The fact that Counter-Strike is the most popular game in Europe also added to the factor.
Counter Strike in general saw some huge changes after transitioning to CS2. Since it is also the first Major for Counter-Strike, people are on the lookout for which team will take away the title.
Looking at the current numbers, it is quite clear that the original PGL Major matches might crunch even higher numbers. Apart from the Major, there are also multiple events across Intel Grand Slam Season 5. ESL Pro League Season 19 and IEM Dallas 2024 is also set to start soon.
