Peshawar Zalmi reaches 50 PSL wins

Peshawar Zalmi became the first Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise to reach 50 victories. They achieved the feat with a win over Islamabad United on Thursday night. On the other hand, Karachi Kings are the PSL team with the most defeats. In 85 games in all eight league seasons, they have lost 50. Peshawar Zalmi have played 92 matches so far and have triumphed in 50. In 49 of those 50 encounters, Zalmi came out on top, and they also triumphed in one super-over.

At the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Thursday, March 16, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Islamabad United by 12 runs in the first-round elimination match of the Pakistan Premier League (PSL) 2023. Aamer Jamal, a fast bowler, was named Player of the Match after taking two crucial wickets – Alex Hales and Sohaib Maqsood. Also scoring 64 runs off 39 balls with 10 fours was Babar Azam. On March 17 in Lahore, Elimination 2 would pit the Zalmi against Shaheen Shah Afridi’s Lahore Qalandars.

Top wicket-takers and run-scorers of PSL 2023

In PSL 2023, Muhammad Rizwan of the Multan Sultans continues to lead in runs scored. Before, Rizwan became the first player to score over 500 runs in three different PSL seasons. As a result of his efforts, the Sultans captain has amassed 516 runs from 11 games at an average of 57.33 and a strike rate of 142.54, including four half-centuries and a century against the Karachi Kings.

With 480 runs from 10 matches at an average of 53.33 and a strike rate of 148.60, Zalmi captain Babar Azam is second on the list. Babar just surpassed the milestone faster than Chris Gayle of the Universe Boss, scoring 9000 runs in T20 cricket.

The Multan Sultans’ Abbas Afridi now holds the number one spot on the PSL 2023 wicket-takers list. In 10 games, the fast bowler has taken 23 wickets for an economy rate of 9.45. He also became the fifth bowler in PSL history to record a hat-trick.

Ihsanullah, who formerly had the top slot, is now ranked second. The quick bowler has a five-wicket haul against the Quetta Gladiators to show for his efforts, 21 wickets from 11 games at an economy rate of 7.26.
