‘Paise hain cable lagane ke?’ – Fans react as Pakistan stripped of broadcasting options for three ongoing Cricket series
Major cricket broadcasters of Pakistan are currently geared towards providing quality broadcast of the PSL 2023.
Three major Cricket series are currently underway – India vs Australia, Bangladesh vs England and South Africa vs West Indies. As the world gears up for the upcoming Cricket World Cup, fans are keen on keeping an eye on their potential competitors. Sadly, that option is still a luxury for the Cricket fans in Pakistan, who have no legal broadcasters for these three major series going on in the world of Cricket right now.
Notably, most of Pakistan’s broadcasting resources are channelled towards the ongoing Pakistan Super League. The update has found enough traction on social media, with major sports journalists sharing the news understanding the plight of passionate Cricket fans of Pakistan. However, the fans in Pakistan have devised alternate ways to not miss out on any action.
Fans in Pakistan are using IPTV websites to stream these games online
IPTV websites have been the new normal for Cricket fans in Pakistan. IPTV websites are illegal websites that mirror broadcasts by popular TV operators from different parts of the world. Many fans in Pakistan have been using this medium to watch the ongoing Cricket games.
Speaking of the ongoing series, India are leading Australia in the 4-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. However, Australia have taken the upper hand in the current Test being played in Nagpur. In the series between England and Bangladesh, England enjoys the upper hand after dismissing the home side for 209 in the first ODI. South Africa also enjoys an upper hand in the first Test against West Indies. The Windies are three wickets down and trail by 208 runs in reply to South Africa’s total of 342 in the first innings.
The update made fans react hastily. Many fans were quick to troll the management of TV services in Pakistan and the Pakistan Cricket Board for failing fans of the region. On the other hand, many Pakistani fans shared several illegal ways they have been following these games.
