‘Paise barbad ben stokes – Fans react as Rajasthan thrash Hyderabad by 72 runs in Indian T20 League 2023
Chasing 204 was not an easy task for Hyderabad and Kiwi pacer Trent Boult made it worse as he clinched two wickets in the very first over of the chase.
In the fourth game of the Indian T20 League, Rajasthan beat Hyderabad by 72 runs to start the season with a bang. While chasing a mammoth total of 204 runs, Hyderabad failed to hold its nerves and finished at 131/8 in 20 overs. Star India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal shined in Rajasthan’s victory as he clinched four wickets to restrict Hyderabad way before the target.
Earlier, after losing the toss, Rajasthan was asked to bat first on a flat track. The visitors capitalized on the opportunity very aggressively as they scored 85 runs in the powerplay. Opening batters, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler, added 85 runs for the first wicket in six overs. Buttler, in his fiery innings, scored a brilliant half-century as he scored 54 runs off just 22 balls. His knock was laced with seven fours and three sixes. Meanwhile, Jaiswal, during his innings, scored 54 runs in 37 balls with the help of nine boundaries.
In the end, Rajasthan skipper Sanju Samson also hammered a half-century but failed to play till the end as Rajasthan are 10-20 runs short in the innings. Samson, in his innings, scored 55 runs off 32 balls with three boundaries and four maximums. For Hyderabad, it was T Natrajan and Fazal Farooqi, who clinched two wickets each and restricted the run flow in the middle overs.
Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal destroyed Hyderabad’s run chase
Chasing 204 was not an easy task for Hyderabad and Kiwi pacer Trent Boult made it worse as he clinched two wickets in the very first over of the chase. He dismissed opener Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi for a duck and bowled a double wicket maiden over. However, Mayank Agarwal tried to rescue his team but was eventually dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal.
Chahal clinched four wickets in his spell as he dismissed Agarwal, Brook, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Adil Rashid. In between, he also clinched his 300th wicket in T20s. Meanwhile, fans react to Rajasthan’s convincing victory. A Twitter user said, “Ye to sabse majboot team thi.”
