Overwatch 2 reveals more hero mastery missions for Jaunary
In an official post on X (previously known as Twitter), Overwatch 2 have now revealed new hero mastery missions for five beloved characters. These are Lucio, Mei, D.Va, Echo and Genji.
The new hero mastery mission that was announced will be released one by one across the entire month to give players a chance to complete it before other ones arrive. However, the old ones will still be available in the single-player mode.
As of now, players can currently play the new Lucio hero mastery courses, with the Mei course coming up next on January 9. Furthermore, there are also difficulty sliders and individual hero leaderboards for gamers to show off their high scores.

Hero mastery course criteria
The players will be tasked with completing objectives with various instructions according to their progress. Scores are determined at the end of the hero mastery course based on player performance.
These hero mastery courses were released back in September 2023 during the mid-season patch of Season 6. These missions were added to provide new players knowledge of how a character is used and was also a form of replacement after PvE mode was cancelled.
Returning players will also benefit from a fresh tutorial of controls. Even if a player knows how to play, the developers give plenty of reasons to try on the hero mastery mode, as it provides Battle Pass XP along with free cosmetics and various other rewards.
Prior to the current addition, players were able to play the hero mastery course for Sojourn, Tracer, Mercy, Reinhardt, and Winston. There are many common missions as well as Hero-specific Mission demanding different requirements and difficulties.
Players who missed the old mastery courses can still hop into the game and enjoy them along with others coming in future. While the game did receive a lot of criticism during the initial release of the game and after cancelling the PvE mode, the developments are still working to make it better.
