Star Indian cricketer KL Rahul got married to his long-time girlfriend and actor Athiya Shetty on Monday in a private ceremony in Khandala, Maharashtra. The wedding function took place at Athiya Shetty’s father actor Sunil Shetty’s Farmhouse. Four days after his wedding, the star opener has returned to training for upcoming India vs Australia four-match Test series played for the ‘Border Gavaskar Trophy’.
Rahul was rested from the recent ODI and T20I series against New Zealand on account of his wedding. He will be returning to the squad against Australia as India look to beat the world’s no one side and reclaim the top spot in the Test Team rankings.
The series holds tremendous importance for India for their qualification to the World Test Championship final. Rohit Sharma’s men need to win at least two matches to remain in the race for the final. If they manage to win three, they will seal their spot in the final.
Meanwhile, the newly-wedded couple shared their wedding photographs for their fans on social media.

KL Rahul- Athiya Shetty didn’t receive any expensive gift from Indian Cricketers
There were several reports claiming that the couple got expensive gifts from Indian cricketers. According to reports, Virat Kohli gifted them a BMW car worth 2.17 crore while MS Dhoni gifted a Kawasaki Ninja H2R bike worth Rs 80 lakh.
However, all those reports turned out to be false as the bride’s family urged media outlets not to publish ‘incorrect information’. A statement released by the bride’s father Suniel Shetty’s spokesperson clarified, “All the reports published are absolutely baseless and not true about the gifts to Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul, we request the press fraternity to confirm details with us before publishing such incorrect information in the public domain please.”
