After a hectic August and September, Team India has enjoyed the ideal home preparation for the ODI World Cup in 2023. India checked nearly all the questions that needed a solution, following a number of experiments during the tour of the West Indies. After five years, Team India eventually won the Asia Cup. And in case there were still any questions after the home series versus Australia, they were answered.

Consequently, there will be a few fun selection issues before the ODI World Cup 2023. Today at the Chepauk, Chennai, India will play the most successful side in the history of the World Cup. Five-time champions Australia are all set to open yet another ODI World Cup on a positive note.

From September 29 to October 3, rain has been a major factor in up to seven World Cup warm-up games, acting as a spoiler in each one. India was the victim in two of the matches, versus England in Guwahati on September 30 as well as against the Netherlands in Thiruvananthapuram on October 3. Among those seven, four got abandoned due to rain without a ball being bowled.

Rain hasn’t hampered all of the four games since the World Cup began on October 5 but it might be crucial on Sunday because Chennai has seen intermittent rain all week. In reality, there had been significant rainfall in certain areas of the neighbourhood on Saturday night.
