‘No Sushant, No Dil Bechara’ – Netizens react as filmmaker Mukesh Chhabra hints at a sequel of Sushant Singh Rajpur and Sanjana Sanghi’s Dil Bechara
Mukesh Chhabra’s proposal for a ‘Dil Bechara’ sequel shocked the internet. The late actor Sushant Singh Rajput costarred with Sanjana Sanghi in the Chhabra-directed original movie. Mukesh made his directing debut with the movie, which was released following Sushant’s passing. Without much explanation, Mukesh wrote “Dil Bechara 2″ on X. However, the situation changed since it was evident that the concept infuriated a lot of Sushant fans.
Dil Bechara was freed following Sushant’s passing. It was Sanjana’s first time playing a lead role in a movie. Saswata Chatterjee and Swastika Mukherjee also starred in the movie. Based on the same-titled novel, Dil Bechara is the Hindi adaptation of the popular Hollywood film ‘The Fault in Our Stars’, starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort.
Netizens disappointed at Dil Bechara 2 possibility:
It is clear that the fans think that the late versatile actor Sushant Singh Rajput is irreplaceable. The audience is infuriated with even the thought of the sequel. The comment section of Mukesh Chhabra’s tweet is filled with hate and disapproval. Many netizens took to his post to express their feelings. Check out the comments below.

On June 14, 2020, Sushant’s body was discovered at his Bandra flat. His death shocked the nation and is currently under investigation. The Mumbai Police initially looked into his death, and then the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took over. Since the actor’s death was ruled out as a suicide by the AIIMS medical board, which filed a report to the CBI confirming this, his death has been treated as a suicide.
His best friend Mukesh said to Lallantop last year in reference to Sushant, “It was during the (Covid-19) pandemic. Had I known the struggles he faced, I would have gone to talk to him. We used to get together a lot. We had a great relationship that lasted from his first to his last movie.”
The disapproval of the audience makes it clear that the possibility of Dil Bechara 2 is very low. Nevertheless, even if the film gets made then the viewers won’t be happy to view it in the theatres.
