‘New Zealand is India’s kryptonite in T20Is’- Twitter shocked as New Zealand knock up India by 21 runs in 1st T20I at Ranchi

India have been given a massive shock after the 3-0 domination in ODI.

India vs New Zealand

The first T20I between India and New Zealand saw the Kiwis come out on top with a convincing 21-run victory. India won the toss and elected to bowl first inviting New Zealand to set up a target. The Kiwis showcased good batting at the JSCA stadium and set up a target of 176/6 for India. Finn Allen got the innings off to a strong start, scoring 35 off 23 with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Devon Conway also had a solid performance, making 52 off 35 in 7 fours and 1 six. Daryl Mitchell put in a standout performance, scoring 59 off 30 with 3 fours and 5 sixes, helping New Zealand to a strong total.

In the second innings, India struggled to chase down the target set by New Zealand. Despite a strong performance from Suryakumar Yadav, who made 47 off 34 with 6 fours and 2 sixes, India could only manage 155/9 at the end of their 20 overs. Washington Sundar also put in a good effort, scoring 50 off 28 with 5 fours and 3 sixes, but it was not enough to secure a win for the team.

Overall, New Zealand’s strong batting performance in the first innings proved to be the difference in the match. The Indian bowlers were unable to contain the Kiwi batsmen, and the team was unable to chase down the target set for them.

This defeat will be a wake-up call for the Indian team, who will need to improve their performance in the upcoming matches if they hope to secure a series victory. On the other hand, New Zealand showed a great team effort and they will be looking to continue their winning streak in the next match.

India have been given an awakening by this loss after they won the ODI by 3-0. Now the Hardik Pandya-led side would have to make a strong comeback in the 2nd T20I.
