‘Natak bas bhi kardo bhai ab’ – Fans react to PCB deciding Pakistan team’s participation at ODI World Cup 2023
Pakistan Cricket Board is skeptical about the security and safety of the team in India
According to sources in RevSportz, the Pakistani government is prepared to ask the apex cricket body for a security guarantee for the safety of the Babar Azam-led team during the upcoming ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. The competition will take place from October 5 until November 19.
This follows the meeting on Thursday, August 3, of the prominent committee formed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The group, which is reportedly led by Pakistan’s foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto, is worried about the team’s safety in India and is asking the apex governing body for a written guarantee.
According to speculations in various media sites, the Pakistani government would send a security committee to the neighbouring nation before deciding whether to send a team to the prestigious competition. Recent political disputes between the two countries have raised many questions about Men in Green’s participation in the World Cup in India.
According to the World Cup schedule, Pakistan will play its games in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, as well as Kolkata, while its match versus India will take place in the Narendra Modi International venue in Ahmedabad, the largest venue in the world. These locations will likely be inspected by the security delegation, and the final decision won’t be made until they report.
Pakistan’s reportedly new schedule
Due to the flexibility of the dates for two of its games, Pakistan’s World Cup schedule is also anticipated to undergo some adjustments. According to Indian Cricket Board Secretary Jay Shah, a couple of full members voiced reservations about the schedule, prompting modest alterations.
According to rumours, Pakistan’s match versus Sri Lanka, which was initially scheduled for October 12th at the same location in Hyderabad, has been moved to October 10th, and the match versus India has been moved from October 15th to October 14th in Ahmedabad. The PCB has allegedly accepted the adjustments that were communicated by the apex cricket body and the Indian Cricket Board.
