Virat Kohli with 'Naatu Naatu' moves

The “Naatu Naatu” fever spreads like wildfire, even reaching Indian star batter Virat Kohli without any signs of stopping down. Kohli was seen dancing to the song “Naatu Naatu’s” hook step during the first ODI against Australia on Friday. The song’s popularity has sharply increased since RRR’s win at the Oscars. Even Kohli, who was in action for his national team, played the song “Naatu Naatu” in his brain while fielding in the slips. The video of him dancing is going viral online.

The historical action movie “RRR”, directed by SS Rajamouli, made history when the song “Naatu Naatu” became the first Indian song to win an Oscar for Best Original Song. Together with “Applause” from “Tell It Like a Woman,” “Hold My Hand” from “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” and “This Is a Life” from “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” the Telugu song was also nominated in the category for the Oscars.

India need 189 to win the first ODI vs. Australia

After acting captain Hardik Pandya won the toss, India decided to bat first in the first ODI. Rohit Sharma, the team’s regular captain, is unable to play in the match owing to family obligations. Thus, Hardik is filling in as the stand-in captain. Four pacers—Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, Hardik, and Mohammed Siraj—and two spinners—Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav—appeared in the Indian playing XI.

Josh Inglis replaced Alex Carey for the visitors after Carey had to return home due to sickness. David Warner’s incomplete recovery from his elbow fracture allowed Mitchell Marsh to start the innings for the Kangaroos in his place.

Talking of the game, the hosts won the toss and chose to bowl first. Australia captain Steve Smith was content with the decision as he said it was a good toss to lose, with him unsure of what to do had he won. India dropped a masterful bowling performance led by the pace duo of Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj. Both speedsters returned with three wickets each. Ravindra Jadeja returned with two wickets as Kuldeep Yadav, and skipper Hardik Pandya returned with a wicket a piece. Australia were bundled out for 188 within 35.4 overs.
