‘My time at PSL helped me a lot’ – Jofra Archer

Jofra Archer’s lethal pace is enough to give even the best of the batters a nightmare. Since his debut in the international arena, Archer has developed as an all-format bowler. Archer adds great value to the bowling attack of any team of which he is a part of.

Before making his international debut, Archer developed a reputation for himself, playing around the world in different T20 leagues. He has played in almost all the major T20 leagues of the world.

In a recent interview on Jarrod Kimber’s podcast titled ‘Red Inker’, Archer revealed how his time in the PSL before his international debut helped him. He also stated that playing under the leadership of Sarfaraz Ahmed was similar to playing under Eoin Morgan, as both are world-class leaders.

“One thing I want to share which many people don’t know is my time at PSL before my international debut helped me a lot in understanding the demands of modern T20 cricket. Although playing under Sarfaraz Ahmed wasn’t much different from Morgan, both damn good leaders,” said Archer on the podcast.

Notably, Archer has been out of action for about a year now. He was last involved in international action in March last year. His absence is due to an elbow injury and the subsequent surgeries he is going through. Archer has made it clear that he will not be available for the upcoming Indian T20 League season. But this fact did not deter the Mumbai franchise from buying him for a hefty price of INR 8Cr.

Mumbai owners termed this buy on their part as ‘future investment’. In a recent interaction with the franchise, Archer revealed that he will be available to play in the Indian T20 League only in the next season in 2023.
