‘My daughters love pink’ – Ravichandran Ashwin after getting picked by Rajasthan
The recently concluded mega auction for the fifteenth edition of the Indian T20 league saw several world-class players go under the hammer. Ravichandran Ashwin was one of them as he was sold to Rajasthan for INR 5 crore. This will be the fifth franchise the Tamil Nadu plays represents, the others being Chennai, Pune, Punjab and Delhi.
Thus, three days after he was picked up in the auctions, Ashwin held the Rajasthan jersey for the first time. After meeting his new franchise skipper Sanju Samson, he received a bunch of goodies from the franchise’s COO Jake Lush McCrum. Rajasthan’s official social media account posted a video of the same.
In the video, Ashwin can be seen unboxing the goodies, and coming across a jersey and cap of the team. He was absolutely delighted over the fact that the team colour of Rajasthan is pink. He said that his daughters love the colour.
They’ll be all over it: Ravichandran Ashwin
“My daughters actually love pink. So the biggest plus of me playing for RR would be the pink dress. They’ll be all over it,” said Ravichandran Ashwin in the video posted by Rajasthan on social media on Tuesday. It is to be noted that the 35-year-old isn’t the only high-profile spinner purchased by the 2008-champions in the auction.
They also managed to acquire the services of Yuzvendra Chahal. Earlier, Ashwin had expressed his joy over being picked by the team in pink. He said that he has a good rapport with Samson.
“I got picked up by Rajasthan Royals, I am extremely delighted that they have picked me, they tried hard to pick me in the last auction in 2018 but it has come through finally. I have got a great rapport with all of them in that dugout, I have a wonderful rapport with Sanju Samson as well,” said Ashwin in a video posted on the official Twitter handle of Rajasthan.
