‘Must be craving for Dal-Roti’ – Twitter trolls Labuschagne for getting run-out for a duck

Marnus Labuschagne

The first of the three-match Test series between Pakistan and Australia turned out to be a rather dull affair. However, the second Test in Karachi promises to be a thrilling contest. The first day of the second Test wasn’t really a memorable one for Marnus Labuschagne.

Australia’s premier batter has been in superb form in the recent past. As a matter of fact, he scored a superb 90 in the Rawalpindi Test. Thus, there were a lot of expectations from the batter. Unfortunately for him, he had to return to the pavilion for a duck.

To make it sound worse, he was run out before even opening his account. After the wicket of David Warner in the first session, Labuschagne walked in to bat. During the final delivery of the 20th over, he hit the ball towards mid-off.

The ball, unfortunately, didn’t go past the fielder and Sajid Khan was quick to get to the ball. A lightning throw by him saw Labuschagne falling short of his crease. The Queensland batter was so dejected that he didn’t even want to leave the field. Like him, the fans were shocked as well.

After Labuschagne’s dismissal, fans were quick to troll him. As he has posted an image of his lunch, which consisted of “Daal Roti” a day before the Test, several users linked that to his duck in the first innings.

Many fans hilariously claimed that it was the “Daal Roti” that made him run slow. Nevertheless, Australia got to a quick start in the first session of the match. The visitors are 162-2 at the time of writing.
