The Melbourne Renegades’ next BBL matchup against the Melbourne Stars on Tuesday will not include Mujeeb Ur Rahman due to a “change to his No-Objection Certificate (NOC) conditions”.

Mujeeb had requested to be removed from the central contracts list for 2024, and the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) had granted him permission in addition to pacers Naveen-ul-Haq as well as Fazalhaq Farooqi. The three were ordered to forfeit whatever existing NoCs they may have and refrain from participating in T20 leagues over the next two years.

The Melbourne Renegades stated that they had no communication about this from the Afghanistan Board. The statement said, “received no communication that Mujeeb’s availability for the BBL could change from original plans and the club will continue to support him for the rest of the BBL season”.

Fazalhaq Farooqi and Naveen-ul-Haq soon contacted the Afghanistan Cricket Board. They showed the desire to play for the nation as well. After that, the two were included in Afghanistan’s 18-man team for the current Twenty20 International Series against the United Arab Emirates, however Mujeeb was left out.

Mujeeb was a major factor in Renegades’ first and only BBL victory of the season. At the ODI World Cup, he made his Afghanistan debut. Afghanistan and the UAE are now playing a three-match Twenty20 International series. They soundly won the first Twenty20 International, but fell short by 11 runs in the second. Tuesday is when the series’ third and final game will take place.

Who is leading Afghanistan team in Rashid Khan’s absence?

An eighteen-member team was revealed by the Afghanistan Cricket Board’s selection committee for the three-match Twenty20 International series against the UAE.

Rashid Khan, the regular T20I captain, is not in the starting lineup right now. This is due to the fact that is still recuperating from his recent back operation. Throughout the whole series, Ibrahim Zadran, a top-order batsman, has served as captain. The series is poised currently at 1-1 with the final game set to be played tomorrow at 7:30 P.M IST.
