The visitors completely destroyed the home team, bringing an end to the historic Test series between Pakistan and England. In the final Test played at the  National Stadium in Karachi, England once again displayed their attacking game to take home the series 3-0.

Winning the toss and batting first, Pakistan had a decent first innings. They managed a score of 304 runs, with captain Babar Azam scoring 78 runs and Agha Salman scoring 56 runs. For England, the spinners came in handy as Jack leach took four wickets, while debutant Rehan Ahmed took two wickets.

After that, England put together a fantastic innings, scoring 354 runs to take a 50-run lead. Harry Brook (111) scored his third century of the series, while Ollie Pope (51) and Ben Foakes (64) gave him the perfect support.

In the following innings, the Men in Green faced the challenge of great spin on the Karachi track, which always kept them at bay. Ahmed and Leach partnered up to break through the Pakistani batting lineup. Ahmed walked off the field with the ball in the air as he took his first five-wicket haul. Leach also gave him perfect support with his three wickets to restrict Pakistan to a score of 316 runs.

England were now looking at a target of 167 runs with over two days’ play left. In the final session of day three, England came out with great intent to score quick runs. With Zak Crawley’s cameo of 41 runs and Ben Duckett’s half-century, they managed to get to 112/2 by the end of day three.

Ben Stokes, the team captain, and Duckett wasted no time in getting the quick boundaries during the first session of day four. The two piled up the remaining 55 runs within 40 minutes to take the team across the line with eight wickets to spare.

After 17 years, England visited Pakistan for a Test series, and under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum, the home side was thoroughly defeated. This series is evidence of the new-age England team.
