MS Dhoni fan page mocks Faf du Plessis, regrets it later

The Indian T20 League is the biggest T20 league in the world. The tournament always provides action and entertainment of the highest level. The matches take unexpected turns, making the contests exhilarating.

The teams in the tournament compete to the last ball. Often it has been witnessed that teams that have looked down and out have turned it around in a matter of moments. The same has been true for players. We have seen players struggling at the initial phase and then suddenly switching it around to give a match-winning performance.

Bangalore and Punjab faced off against each other in the third match of the Indian T20 League 2022. Bangalore batted first in the match. Faf Du Plessis opened the innings for the team. At the initial phase of his innings, he looked to be struggling and at one stage, his score read 21 runs off 33 deliveries. It was at this stage that a Facebook fan page of MS Dhoni decided to troll the South African. The page named “MS Dhoni – God of Gods” posted a screenshot of Du Plessis batting with the caption – “MSD left this garbage for Bangalore. Great masterstroke…. Good Riddance.”

But soon, Faf turned it on and by the end of his knock, he scored 88 runs off 57 deliveries. The South African scored 67 runs off his last 24 deliveries. This made the admin of the aforesaid page change their stance on Du Plessis. As Du Plessis walked back, they posted another picture of Faf walking back at the score of 88 off 57 deliveries with the caption- “Being an ex-Chennaian and close friend of Dhoni… only he can turn around fortune of this nakara team.” The screenshots of the posts soon went viral on social media.
