The footballing extravaganza in Qatar is nearing its euphoric end on Sunday. Argentina and France will be clashing against each other in the Lusail Stadium on 18th December for the coveted trophy.

Naturally, football fans have been getting increasingly excited as the final nears. Many have already made up their mind on who they want to win. There are a good amount of fans who are behind France and young sensation Kylian Mbappe whereas many want the Argentinian Lionel Messi to end his national career on a high.

Messi who is playing in his last World Cup is yet to get his hands on the coveted trophy. It is for this reason that the diminutive Argentinian who has earned immense plaudits at the club level continues to fall short of greatness. Many Messi fans and football fans, in general, have pooled in behind the 35-year-old for a sensational charge at the trophy.

It is not just general football fans who want Messi to win, even Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan has voiced his preference. In the latest AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Twitter the Pathan actor has given an honest answer when asked who will he be supporting in the FIFA World Cup final.

A fan had asked, “Who are you supporting in the world cup tomorrow,” to which the 57-year-old replied, “Arre yaar the heart says Messi no?? But Mbappa is a treat to watch also.”

While all must have understood that he was talking about Kylian Mbappe many have pointed out the mistake in the French player’s name. As is the case with the internet, memes and funny replies soon started to flood Shah Rukh Khan’s tweet.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to Shah Rukh Khan’s Mbappe blunder:
