“Maybe he still…” – Sandeep Reddy Vanga reveals Shahid Kapoor didn’t text him after Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal success!

One man wasn’t shocked when director Karan Johar admitted to enjoying ‘Kabir Singh‘ and ‘Animal’, two of the most divisive Hindi films in recent memory: Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The controversial director claimed that he anticipated Johar to adore his upcoming movie, which stars Ranbir Kapoor because he had also “genuinely” enjoyed his Hindi film debut, ‘Kabir Singh’. He did, however, speculate that Shahid Kapoor, who plays Kabir Singh, might not have seen Animal yet, as that would account for the fact that he hasn’t heard from him.

Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, won over Karan Johar during a roundtable discussion. He praised the film as the “best” of 2023 and praised its “front-footed, absolutely conviction-based narrative, breaking grammar, breaking myths and breaking everything that you conform to in mainstream cinema.”

Sandeep Reddy Vanga drops truth bombs:

Vanga was questioned about Johar’s remarks and whether he was surprised given how different Johar’s own sensibilities are during an interview with Siddharth Kanan. He revealed, “He sent me a message during Kabir Singh and wrote a lengthy post on Instagram expressing his admiration for the movie. He truly enjoyed it; in fact, I didn’t think he would like Kabir, but when he did, I thought he would also adore Animal, which he did.”

In addition to Johar, a number of other people also congratulated him on Animal, including Vijay Devarakonda, who played Arjun Reddy. Vanga claimed that although Vijay messaged him to say that he “loved” the movie, he didn’t do so with the intention of getting back to him.

The director confessed, “We always have this thing where we have to work again, but just because my movie is a hit doesn’t mean he’ll call me right away. I communicate with Vijay on a regular basis over the phone. In response to the question of whether Shahid Kapoor, who starred in Kabir Singh, contacted him following Animal, the director said, “Perhaps he still hasn’t seen the film.”
