ODI World Cup 2023
Man lodges FIR against Mitchell Marsh for keeping feet on World Cup trophy
Mitchell Marsh played a small cameo but was dimissed later on by Jasprit Bumrah in the ODI World Cup 2023 final.
Indian supporters were devastated by our defeat to Australia in the most recent World Cup final, which was Australia’s sixth World Cup triumph. But in the middle of all of this, there’s been a complaint towards Mitchell Marsh, who was on the winning squad, which has caused controversy.
Social media was taken up by a picture of Marsh putting his legs up on the World Cup trophy. As a result, he is the subject of an Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, FIR.
The complaint was made by RTI activist Pandit Keshav, who said that Marsh’s actions were unjust. When he placed his legs over the World Cup trophy, it had profoundly upset supporters of the Indian cricket team. In an effort to stop Marsh from participating in professional cricket in India, Keshav also sent a copy of this complaint to Prime Minister Modi.
The event happened following Australia’s 6 wicket victory over India in the ODI World Cup 2023 final. Following a perfect campaign, India’s single defeat of the tournament came during the finals. The match saw them lose badly against the Australians in Ahmedabad. Both players and spectators were devastated by the defeat, especially in the final match.
This scenario has created an unanticipated level of tension in the narrative surrounding the World Cup, as disappointed supporters’ emotions remain elevated. The government’s and cricket authorities’ reactions to this extraordinary incident, which has redirected attention from on-field rivalry to off-field disputes about sportsmanship and respect, have still to be determined.
India lead T20I series after epic run-chase
Mitchell Marsh, the ODI World Cup winner, is not playing in the current series against India. Following the World Cup, Mitchell Starc, captain Pat Cummins, and a few other cricket players returned home. Players that are playing the series against Team India include Steve Smith, Jos Inglis, Marcus Stoinis, and Glenn Maxwell.
India won the first game of the 5-match T20I series when they chased down the mighty total of 208 runs. Josh Inglis’ maiden T20I century went in vain as Suryakumar Yadav brought his best game back for his favorite format. His 80-run innings was crucial in taking India through with the victory.
