Man City vs Man United – Preview, Predicted Playing XI, Head to Head

For the FA Cup final, Manchester United will lock horns with Manchester City on Sunday, June 4. Talking about the Blue Brigade, City, they are on top of the Premier League table and have won the tournament. On the other hand, United are looking for another title after winning the Carabao Cup. For the first time in their 129-year history, they are playing the FA Cup final.

Predicted Playing XI 

The likes of  Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish, Ruben Dias, and Manuel Akanji are dealing with injuries which is why they might not play the game. Nathan Ake is likely to keep his place while John Stones may make a comeback. Talking about the goalkeeping slot, either Ederson or Stefan Ortega can be given the responsibility.

Skipper Ilkay Gundogan is set to return in center-midfield. Bernardo Silva will battle with Phil Foden and Mahrez for a spot on the right wing.

Manchester City:

Ederson; Walker, Dias, Ake; Stones, Rodri; Bernardo, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Grealish; Haaland

Talking about the Red Devils, Anthony Martial has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury. Alejandro Garnacho and former Man City youngster Jadon Sancho will most likely occupy a place in the playing XI. Luke Shaw will return after sustaining a back issue. On the other hand, Raphael Varane is set to replace captain Harry Maguire and partner Victor Lindelof in central defense.

De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Lindelof, Shaw; Casemiro, Eriksen; Sancho, Fernandes, Garnacho; Rashford

Head to Head 

Both teams have played each other 189 times in the men’s competitions. Out of this, United has won 78 times while City triumphed in 58 games. 53 games ended in a draw. A total of 535 goals have been scored, with United accounting for 271 and City 264.
