Malaysia, having already won the series with a 2-0 margin, the two teams clashed again in the third match. Playing for pride, the Singapore Women’s team fought hard but suffered another defeat.
Let’s look at the match report of the same.
Singapore Women vs Malaysia Women 3rd T20I:
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, the Malaysia Women got a good start from their openers. Captain Winifred Duragisingam came up with 14 off 16 balls, whereas Wan Julia hit 23 off of 36 balls but could not build upon their good start.
The next batter Mas Elysa looked in great touch and hit 35 runs in 41 balls, with two boundaries to her name. It was however Elsa Hunter who came up as the best batter for the host team. In just 22 balls, she hit an unbeaten 42 runs, including five boundaries, to take the team total to 156/3.
This was her highest score in the whole series. Coming on to chase this big target, the opener Roshni Seth (34) and number three batter, Shafina Mahesh (28), started really well and looked like giving a good challenge to the hosts. Both of them, however, were removed one after the other at 68 and 69.
The game was done and dusted by Singapore at that point as none of the next batters could stand their ground. The next eight wickets fell for an individual score of either zero or one. The whole team was sent packing at a score of 77/10.
Sasha Azmi, from Malaysia Women, came up with a great bowling figure of 4-20-4. Mas Elysa also supported well with a 3.5-19-2.
