Malaysia Quadrangular T20I Series: Match 6 Thailand vs Bhutan- Match Report
Bhutan managed to get their second win of the series against Thailand.
The sixth match of the Malaysia Quadrangular T20I series saw Thailand and Bhutan clash against each other. Thailand were looking for their first win in this series having lost both of their games.
Bhutan on the other hand were coming straight from a win and looked confident. Let’s look at how the game panned out.

After winning the toss, Bhutan elected to field first and asked the Thailand team to bat. Coming to bat first the Thailand team had a really poor start. Their openers, Sorawat Desunnoen and Narawit Nuntarch were sent packing for just six runs. Phiriyapong Suanchui, the Thailand wicket-keeper batter came up with the top score for the team at 17. None of the other Thailand players were able to get into a double-digit score with the second highest being eight runs. The captain Chanchai Pengkumta could only muster four runs on 13 deliveries for the Thailand team.
The whole Thailand team was sent packing for 49/8 in 11 overs. Bhutan bowler Ngawang Thinley with a bowling figure of 2-13-4 was their best bowler. Suprit Pradhan with 3-10-2 also played a crucial role in stopping the Thailand team for a low score.
Coming on to bat, the Bhutan team also struggled at the start with both openers Thinley Jamtsho (8) and Namgay Thinley (1), going out very cheaply. Their next batter, Sherab Loday (22) steadied the Bhutan innings and added significant runs to the team’s total. In the end, Namgang Chejay (6) and Suprit Pradhan (5) were able to take the Bhutan side across the finishing line and earned their second win of the series.
Four of Thailand’s bowlers took one wicket each but it was not enough to stop Bhutan from winning the match. They were defeated in just 9.4 overs. Ngawang Thinley for a four-wicket hall was adjudged the player of the match.
