The 11th match of Malaysia Quadrangular Series 2022 took place between Malaysia and Thailand at Bangi in Malaysia. Malaysia won the game easily by 94 runs. They batted first and notched a huge score of 230 runs at the end of the first innings.

Virandeep Singh starred with the bat, scoring 72 runs in 44 balls, including 6 fours and 4 sixes. Skipper, Ahmad Faiz also played an outstanding knock of 57 runs in 30 deliveries, including 4 fours and as many sixes.

For Maldives, Ibrahim Hassan managed to claim two wickets but, other than that, the bowling unit failed to inspire any confidence. Malaysia scored 136 runs in the second innings, thereby falling 94 runs short of the target.

Abdullah Shahid made 34 runs in 39 balls, while Umar Adam produced a 29-ball 50 but he lacked support from the other end. Malaysia have now reached the final and will be playing the summit clash on Monday.

On the other hand, the 12th match will be played between Bhutan and Thailand. Batting first, Bhutan managed to score 135 runs in the first innings. They didn’t get off to a great start, having lost the first three wickets for 46 runs in 7 overs.

However, Thinley Jamtso and Jigme Singye then steadied the ship and rescued the innings. Jamtsho went on to score a fifty, while Singye played a handy knock of 40 runs in 38 balls. However, once the duo got out, wickets fell in a quick succession and Bhutan got out on a below-par score.

However, they bowled exceedingly well and restrict Thailand to just 107 runs in the second innings. A collective bowling performance helped them win the game by 28 runs in the end. Bhutan kept picking wickets at regular intervals and denied Thailand to stitch any partnership.

Thinley and Singye picked two wickets each, while the likes of Wangchuk, Pradhan and Thinley picked one apiece.
