‘LSG ne nikala ya khud nikla?’ – Fans react as Kolkata Knight Riders appoint Gautam Gambhir as mentor for IPL 2024

Gautam Gambhir, the former cricket player from India, has rejoined the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In order to restore Kolkata to its former grandeur, he would serve as a mentor for the team. The former KKR skipper would collaborate with head coach Chandrakanth Pandit in the upcoming season.

From 2011 until 2017, Gambhir played with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He was able to win two IPL titles, in 2012 as well as in 2014. The former opener is driven to give it his all and is thrilled to be joining the franchise again.

During his two seasons as coach, Gautam Gambhir led the Lucknow Super Giants to the postseason each time. He expressed his gratitude to the LSG support team and the owner for having faith in his abilities.

He wrote, “As I announce the end of my impeccable journey with Lucknow Super Giants, I am filled with love and immense gratitude towards all the players, coaches, support staff and every individual who has made this journey memorable.”

The Kolkata Knight Riders mentor added that, “I would like to thank Dr. Sanjiv Goenka for his inspiring leadership while creating this remarkable franchise and for his tremendous support to all my endeavours. I’m sure that the team will do wonders in the future and will make every LSG fan proud. All the very best LSG brigade!”

Shahrukh Khan, the co-owner of KKR, is thrilled to see Gautam Gambhir return to the team after a six-year absence. The epic combination of Shahrukh Khan and Gautam Gambhir can also come true once again later next year.

Shahrukh Khan said, “Gautam has always been part of the family and this is our Captain coming back home in a different avatar as a “Mentor”. He was sorely missed and now we all look forward to Chandu Sir and Gautam in instilling the never-say-die spirit and of sportsmanship they stand for, in creating magic with Team KKR.”
