India clinched a promising victory over Australia in the first match of the four-match Test series by an inning and 132 runs. The second match of the Test series will be played in Delhi on February 17 in Delhi. Meanwhile, the Indian team released Jaydev Unadkat before the 2nd match. The speedster was not part of the playing XI of the Test played in Nagpur and now he will not get a chance to play in the second match as well.

It is reported that Unadkat will play the final match of the Ranji Trophy for Saurashtra. Saurashtra defeated Karnataka by 4 wickets in the semi-finals. Unadkat was included in Team India after his brilliant performance in domestic matches. He has performed brilliantly in many matches for Saurashtra. For this reason, he became a part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee in consultation with the Indian team management has decided to release Jaydev Unadkat from India’s squad for the 2nd Test of the Mastercard Australia tour of India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy,” read the release from Indian Cricket Board.

Jaydev Unadkat is soon to join the Saurashtra squad for Ranji Trophy final

“Jaydev will now join the Saurashtra squad, which qualified for the Mastercard Ranji Trophy final to be played against Bengal from 16th February at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata,” it informed further.

The team management has released him to play the final match of the Ranji Trophy. This match will be played between Saurashtra and Bengal at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. He will be part of Saurashtra for this match to be played on 16 February.

In the semi-final, Karnataka, captained by Mayank Agarwal, scored 407 runs in the first innings and 234 runs in the second innings. In response, Saurashtra scored 527 runs in the first innings and 117 runs in the second innings to win the match by 4 wickets. Playing Unadkat in the final can prove to be very good for Saurashtra.
