In the second ODI of the ongoing three-match series, South Africa beat India by eight wickets. The Indian team failed to put up a show with both bat and ball and fell in the game. After restricting India to 211 runs, South Africa chased the target with ease. Young batter Tony De Zorzi shone with his maiden ODI century, while Rinku Singh made his ODI debut.

Earlier, in the game, South African skipper Aiden Markram won the toss and opted to bowl first. His decision went well with the team, as India lost two wickets for a mere 46 runs in 11 overs. Openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Tilak Varma failed to put up a show with the bat. Ruturaj in his innings scored 4 runs, while Varma in his innings scored 10 runs.

However, after their departure, Sai Sudarshan and skipper KL Rahul added 68 runs for the third wicket. Both batted amazingly and tried to rescue the team. However, soon they fell as India failed to put up a show. Sudarshan in his innings scored 62 runs, while Rahul in his innings scored 56 runs. They were dismissed by pacer Nandre Burger.

In the end, not a single Indian batter looked comfortable against the hosts, as India was bundled up for a mere 211 runs in just 46.2 overs. For South Africa, pacer Nandre Burger took three wickets, while B. Hendricks and Keshav Maharaj took two wickets each. Markram and Leezad Williams took wickets each, too.

Tony de Zorzi led South Africa to a comfortable victory

Chasing a below-par total, South Africa had a great start. Opener Reeza Hendricks, along with Tony De Zorzi, added 130 runs for the first wicket. Hendricks, in his inning, scored 52 runs off 81 balls with the help of seven boundaries. After his departure, Zorzi and Rassie Van der Dussen added a 76-run partnership for the second wicket.
