The Lanka Premier League 2022 is ongoing and the teams are giving it their all to make a cut to the next round of the tournament. As things stand, on Day 10 of the T20 extravaganza, Jaffna Kings faced off against Galle Gladiators in the first match, while Kandy Falcons competed against Dambulla Aura in the second match. Let us take a round-up of the clash between these teams on Day 10 of the Lanka Premier League 2022:

Match 17 – Jaffna Kings vs Galle Gladiators

Jaffna Kings competed against Galle Gladiators in the first match of Day 10 of the tournament and it was the former who came out on top defending a target of 171. To add more to the match, the Kings managed to reach the 170-mark on the back of Afif Hossain’s 54 and Sadeera Samarawickrama’s 32. Eventually, the Kings looked confident on the day and managed to dominate the game right throughout, leaving no space for a comeback from the Gladiators.

Eventually, regarding the Gladiators’ chase, it was captain Kusal Mendis who top-scored with the bat yet again, but in vain as the team fell short of the target by 17 runs. To add more, while Mendis scored 58, the likes of Lahiru Udana, Asad Shafiq and Imad Wasim perished in quick succession, putting the team in deep trouble and eventually going on to lose the match.

Match 18 – Kandy Falcons vs Dambulla Aura

In Match 18 of the tournament, Kandy Falcons locked horns with Dambulla Aura and it was the Falcons who came out on top after crushing the Aura. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Ashen Bandara top scored with the bat for the team with his 37 and eventually lifted the team. A valuable 27 from Kaveen Bandara at the opening slot gave the Falcons the much-needed push as they put on 160 runs on the board at the end of the first innings.

Dambulla Aura got off to a shaky start in the second innings, eventually failing to get going after being restricted to 40/4 in no time, chasing the challenging target. However, Sikandar Raza top scored with his 45 and eventually pushed the team past the 120-mark, although they fell short of the game by 40 runs.
