Lahore Qalandars take PSL trophy to Wagah border

The Lahore Qalandars, who emerged as the champions of the 2022 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), took the trophy to the Wagah border. The border is located between India and Pakistan, between Lahore and the city of Amritsar.

The PSL trophy was shown to the Ranger’s personnel. Several luminaries, including Brigadier Shehzad, the CEO of the Lahore Qalandars, Atif Rana as well as R Usman, who is the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore, were present during this ceremony.

The Lahore Qalandars also took to social media and posted a few pictures from the event. “Pictures of Trophy visit to Wagah Border,” read the caption on the tweet posted by the official Twitter handle of the Qalandars.

The Lahore Qalandars produced a fantastic performance in the summit clash of the 2022 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), and thrashed the Multan Sultans side by 42 runs. Wielding the willow first, the Qalandars scored a competitive 180/5, with Mohammad Hafeez top-scoring with 69 at a strike rate of 150. Apart from Hafeez, Harry Brook also provided momentum in the final stage of the innings by smashing a quickfire 41* at a strike rate of close to 190.

Asif Afridi was outstanding with the ball and took three wickets in the four overs that he bowled, and leaked just 19 runs. In reply, the Multan Sultans side kept losing wickets at regular intervals and was bowled out for 138. As many as five batters scored in single digits. Shaheen Afridi picked up three wickets, while Mohammad Hafeez and Zaman Khan scalped two wickets each. Veteran cricketer Mohammad Hafeez won the Player of the Match award for his superb performance with both bat and ball that enabled his side to lift the PSL title this year.
