Robin Minz’s father is employed at the Ranchi airport as a security guard. Shubman Gill got to know the legendary player as he was returning home from Ranchi, where he had led India to victory during the fourth Test. It was a very kind gesture from the young Gujarat Titans skipper.

The 24-year-old just secured the India vs. England Test series with one of his finest Test performances in Ranchi. Following that, he beautifully paid respect to the father of Robin Minz, the first tribal cricket player to participate in the IPL.

After being purchased for an incredible Rs 3.6 crore at the IPL 2024 auction, Robin gained notoriety. The cricketer, who is from Jharkhand, is the first tribal player to be signed to an IPL contract after being acquired by the Gujarat Titans.

It was then discovered that Mr. Francis Xavier Minz, Robin’s father, is employed at Ranchi’s airport as a security guard. Gill chooses to visit the inspiring guy when Indian cricket players return home for a little respite before the final Test in Dharamsala.

While sharing a photo of himself with Robin’s father on Instagram, Shubman Gill posted a message. He wrote, “Honoured to meet Robin Minz’s father. Your journey and hardwork has been inspiring. Looking forward to see you in the IPL.”

In the most recent Apex Cricket Council Men’s Test Batting Rankings, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, two of India’s top-order hitters, achieved career-high rankings. India’s players advanced in the latest Test Batting Rankings after their team defeated England with five wickets during the fourth Test to take an unassailable 3-1 advantage in the five-match series.

After scoring 37 runs during the second innings after hitting fifty during the first, Jaiswal moved up three positions to 12th place. Meanwhile, Gill moved up four spaces to 31st place following his half-century in the second.
