The first game of the series will be played on June 9. Talking about his international career, he has been on a roller coaster ride since the 2019 World Cup game. He has been in and out of the team in 2020 and 2021. This year, with Rohit Sharma taking the charge of the team, this thing hasn’t changed at all. The Uttar Pradesh player got only one game in the six limited-overs matches against the West Indies early this year.

The 27-year-old had a change of fortunes after shifting to Delhi in the Indian T20 League 2022. He played all the 14 games played by his side and picked 21 wickets at an average of 19.95 and a strike rate of 14.19 including the best figures of 14/4.

This performance had earned him a place in the Indian team which had a lot of fringe players. Also, he was expected to get more chances than he has gotten this year. However, with the injury, he first need to report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and try to recover fully from the injury
