Kuldeep Yadav has been in superb form of late. After struggling for the last few months, the leggie has finally got back to the groove. It is to be noted that the Delhi-based franchise have shown a lot of faith in him, and have backed him.
Contrary to his time at Kolkata, he is a regular feature in the playing XI for Delhi. Besides, he has been their leading wicket-taker in the Indian T20 league 2022. So far, Kuldeep has taken 13 wickets in seven games at an average of 17.38 in this edition. As of now, he is the third on the list of the leading wicket-takers of this season.
Kuldeep has been vocal about the fact that Rishabh Pant has helped him a lot from behind the stumps. Thus, he went on to compare the Delhi skipper with MS Dhoni. While mentioning that Pant is showing a few glimpses of the legendary keeper-batter, he also stated that glovemen have a huge role in the success of spinners.
“I feel Rishabh is showing a few glimpses of MS Dhoni’s characteristics behind the stumps. He guides well and stays calm on the field. Whenever I or any bowler goes for runs, he stays calm, he doesn’t get worried. Mahi bhai was also like this. Wicketkeepers play a big role in the success of spinners. The credit for my performance in this Indian T20 league goes to Rishabh as well. We have a good understanding now,” said Kuldeep Yadav in a press release issued by Delhi.
Whenever Dhoni did the glovework for India, the Chinaman more often than not. He had a bowling average of 11.7 whenever Dhoni was behind the stumps. As far as the 15th edition of the Indian T20 league is concerned, Kuldeep also revealed that Shane Watson helped him a lot. He had heaps of praises for the Aussie legend.
“Shane Watson has also helped me a lot. I am very lucky to have worked with Watson for three-four sessions. He has particularly helped me with the mental aspect of the game. I have shared a lot of things with him about what I have been through before joining this team. I speak openly with him,†he added.
