‘Koi badiya coach lao yr’ – Fans unhappy with Rahul Dravid’s ‘we don’t feel any pressure’ ahead of WTC final
The World Test Championship final between India and Australia will star on June 7.
Ahead of the World Test Championship final against Australia, India head coach, Rahul Dravid faced some questions from journalists. One of them was bound to be asked, i.e the pressure of winning a World Title. Apparently, since lifting the Champions Trophy 2013, the team is yet to lift a global tournament. They reached the finals of 2017 CT and the 2021 WTC but lost both. Meanwhile, ahead of the 2023 WTC final, Dravid said that the team doesn’t feel any pressure.
“Not at all, we don’t feel any pressure in terms of trying to win an global trophy. Of course, it would be nice to do it. Nice to be able to win a World tournament,” Dravid said.
India reaching the final is the culmination of two years of work: Rahul Dravid
The former India skipper added that the team reaching the final is a result of two years of hard work. He also counted the positives that came out of the 2021-23 cycle and how the team has been playing competitively in the last few years.
“But also, in the context of things, you look at this and you see this is the culmination of 2 years of work, the culmination of a lot of success that gets you here. There are a lot of positives to take from that, see where you stand in the table, winning series in Australia, drawing series here. Being very competitive, this team has played in the world over in the last 5-6 years. Those are things that will never change, just because, you don’t have an World title. That’s really the bigger picture,” he added.
However, the fans don’t agree with the last part of his statement (Those are things that will never change, just because, you don’t have an World title. That’s really the bigger picture).

We are looking to win this ICC trophy which will mean a lot. Ofcourse the pressure will be there but we will handle it as professionals. It will be a nice experience for everyone"

This is totally a negative mindset.. Then what is the point of playing if you don't have any pressure to win icc trophies..then why waste to play the World Cup that comes after every 4 years. How can they even say that.. really disappointing

Brought him forcefully to this senior team coaching setup was the worst step. Some say Indian players need to change their intent . Bc pehele coach v Lao intent wala.

Kya chu mindset hai bc , game start hone se pehle hi haar maanke baithe hain ??
And fans yahan ummed lagake baithe hain ki the team will win the trophy ??— Sojal (@Lost_guy01) June 5, 2023
With all due respect to him for his batting and things he has done for India, he is not the ideal coach for India. Has a defensive mindset. India haven't been the same they were before Dravid.
