KL Rahul, the star player for Team India, only participated in one Test match in the five-match Test series against England. After the first Test, he was not able to compete in the following three Tests because of a quadriceps problem. Rahul was rested in Visakhapatnam, but even with a lengthy layoff before the Rajkot match, he was only 90% healthy.  Therefore, the Indian Cricket Board decided not to take a chance on having him in the team.

He failed to be fit for the Ranchi Test and hasn’t yet reached maximum fitness. Rahul has gone to London to get specialist advice on his injury as per reports. But it is still uncertain if he will play in Dharamsala, according to a recent report on Cricbuzz.

Rahul had surgery in London to treat his right quadriceps, but the discomfort persists. After making his comeback in the Asia Cup, he went on to compete in South Africa and the ODI World Cup. However, the pain has returned, and because the cricket player is crucial to the squad, the management don’t want to gamble any chances with him.

The team management may not want to select an un-fit Rahul given that India leads the series. Additionally, it has been suggested that the Indian Cricket Board may choose to limit player workloads in Dharamsala. Various reports have emerged that the team management might be interested in resting one batter and one bowler.

Jasprit Bumrah to return for pacer-friendly wicket in Dharamsala

Fans of Jasprit Bumrah should be happy as it looks like he will play in the Dharamshala Test again. For the very first time in this series, the Pacers can receive support from this ground. Therefore, it is very likely that both teams’ lineups may see three quicks.

Given that they are keen on concluding the series on a 3-2 scoreline instead of a 4-1 one, England would be unlikely to make significant changes to their starting eleven. Given the fast-paced nature of the Dharamsala ground, James Anderson, Mark Wood, and Ollie Robinson, three pacers, may also be included in the England XI.
