Days after his nasty altercation with Lucknow Super Giants pacer Naveen-ul-Haq, Virat Kohli posted another cryptic post. Naveen also shared a series of Instagram stories that appeared to mock Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kohli following their loss to the Mumbai Indians.
After their on-field outburst during the IPL 2023 match between RCB and LSG, both Virat and Naveen took to Instagram to post sly comments, albeit the Afghanistan bowler had been dropping hints on social media that appeared to mock Kohli and RCB.
The former RCB captain wasn’t having it despite he himself published a photo on Instagram on Wednesday along with an unusual caption. The 34-year-old can be seen seated under a light in the photo he shared, but it was the caption that piqued everyone’s interest. “The competition is all in your head. In reality, it’s always you vs you,” wrote Kohli.
Bangladesh bowler Taskin Ahmed has also joined the party, posting a photo of himself with the same caption on social media. The pacer was mocked for choosing the same caption as the former Indian captain.
In the meantime, Naveen posted a story on Instagram during the MI vs RCB match on Tuesday, right after Kohli’s wicket in the first over. While Piyush Chawal was on TV, the Instagram story had mangoes in the foreground. “Sweet Mangos,” read the story.
During the match at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium, the two cricketers came face to face in the 17th over of LSG‘s innings, and Virat and Naveen had to be separated after exchanging some heated words. They clashed horns again after the match while shaking hands, and Virat was later entangled in a verbal spat with LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir. While Kohli and Gambhir were fined 100% of their match fees for their on-field antics, the Indian Cricket Board fined Naveen 50% of his fee for violating the IPL’s code of conduct.
