ODI World Cup 2023

‘Khali mazze mat karna, kaam bhi karke aane’ – Fans react to Ajit Agarkar scheduled to meet Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid to discuss Indian team’s ODI World Cup 2023 plans

Ajit Agarkar has been reported to travel to the Caribbean to meet Indian team skipper Rohit Sharma along with Rahul Dravid with the ODI World Cup 2023 coming up soon

Ajit Agarkar, the chairman of selectors for the Indian Cricket Board, will be travelling to the West Indies in order to meet with Rahul Dravid, the head coach of India, Rohit Sharma, and the more senior members from the team management to map out a strategy for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023, which starts on October 5. India’s campaign will commence on October 8 against arch-rivals Australia.

The Indian team is currently in Trinidad, getting ready for their second Test match versus the West Indies after winning the first Test in Dominica with an innings and 141 runs. Before giving way to a young team led by Hardik Pandya during the five-match T20I series, the experienced members of the team will play the Caribbean outfit in a three-match ODI series.

Before that, Agarkar, who was named earlier this month as the Indian senior men’s cricket team’s top selector, wants to meet Dravid and Rohit in person to decide on an initial core of 20 players ahead of the World Cup. Prior to the ODI series beginning on July 27, the former India bowler is expected to join the group and have a discussion with the senior members.

One of the senior members from the Indian Cricket Board told PTI about Ajit Agarkar’s planning ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023. They said, “Currently Salil Ankola is in the West Indies but he will be back after the Test series gets over. Ajit will be joining the team before the start of the white ball leg.”

It is thought that in-depth discussions will be had regarding Jasprit Bumrah’s physical condition and whether or not he will be able to travel to Ireland for a three-match T20 series. After his brief comeback to professional cricket playing a T20I series versus Australia back home last year, the quick bowler has not participated in any competitive cricket. Bumrah also missed the most recent T20 World Cup in Australia as well as the Asia Cup. He was also a big miss for India during the World Test Championship final.
