Karan Johar to expose the dark side of the film industry with his Emraan Hashmi starrer web series ‘Showtime’

With Showtime, the filmmaker is preparing to give the industry a web series unlike anything you could have imagined him to do. Showtime will bravely depict the good, bad, and ugly sides of the industry. With an ensemble cast that includes Emraan Hashmi, Mouni Roy, Naseeruddin Shah, Rajeev Khandelwal, and others, Karan Johar has transitioned into a producer for Showtime. Following Karan Johar’s release of the Showtime trailer, fans are giddy and praising the ensemble.

The industry’s bad boy, portrayed by Emraan Hashmi, talks about nepotism and how every outsider aspires to become an insider in the teaser, which highlights the hardships of outsiders. In the Showtime trailer, Mouni Roy is portrayed in an ultra-glamorous manner, and viewers are thrilled to see Rajeev Khandelwal in a prominent part. Furthermore, Naseeruddin Shah’s presence only increases the legitimacy and weight.

Karan Johar wows the audience:

One of the most criticized and trolling directors in the business is Karan Johar. Actress Kangana Ranaut, among many others, accuses him of only supporting insiders and star kids. It will be interesting to see if Karan shares his perspective or discusses the true unpleasant aspects of the film industry.

Regarding the promotion of nepotism, Karan once declared that he had no regrets about working on movies featuring star children or not. He said, “I don’t want to discuss my hardships because I didn’t have an easy life and because my father wasn’t a huge movie producer who brought me into the world after making a hundred hit films. Like in many other industries, nepotism exists in Bollywood as well, I always say.”

Karan Johar further adds, “Sure, it allows you entry and the benefit of your first shot, but you’re out if you trip or fail. There are about 300 nepotistic stars who are no longer in the spotlight, despite the five or ten examples of them succeeding. In fact, a growing number of today’s incredible movie stars are not affiliated with the film industry. I feel that I’m partly to blame for this conversation-starting on my show.”
