Kangana Ranaut reacts on not winning National Award for her film Thalaivii
National Film Awards winners were announced on Thursday night.
Following the Thursday announcement of the 69th National Film Awards, Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut expressed her feelings. Kangana posted a message on Instagram expressing her joy for the recipients of the distinction. “Congratulations to all the winners of the #nationalawards2023,” she wrote. It’s an event like this that unites artists from all around the nation. Knowing about and being introduced to so much significant work being done in all languages is absolutely fantastic.
She added, “All of you who are disappointed that my movie Thalaivi didn’t win any. Please know that I will always be grateful for all Krishna has given or not given me and that everyone who truly loves and appreciates me must also value my viewpoint.” Kangana acknowledged that art is subjective and expressed her sincere belief in the jury’s efforts. “Hare Krishna, I pray for everyone’s well-being.”

Thalaivii, which was released in 2021, was based on the life and hardships of the late politician-actor and former chief minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa. In the movie, Kangana performed the lead role. The movie, which was scripted by V. Vijayendra Prasad, was directed by A. L. Vijay. At the box office, the movie was a huge failure. Even in the critical circles, it wasn’t warmly regarded. Although Kangana received generally positive reviews for her performance, the premise and screenplay received harsh criticism.
At the 69th National Film Awards, Allu Arjun won the Best Actor (Male) prize for his work in Pushpa (The Rise Part I). While Kriti Sanon and Alia Bhatt shared the Best Actor (Female) award for their roles in Mimi and Gangubai Kathiawadi, respectively. R Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect won the award for Best Film. Pankaj Tripathi got the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Pallavi Joshi of The Kashmir Files earned the Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female) honour. The Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration went to The Kashmir Files, and the award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment went to RRR. Udham Singh, a movie by Shoojit Sircar, won the prize for best Hindi film.
