Liverpool completely thrashed Manchester United 7-0 to produce one of their greatest victory of all time in Premier League history on Sunday, March 5 at Anfield. It was totally a disappointing performance from the Red Devils and no one expected that they would suffer this kind of humiliation against Liverpool.

Cody Gakpo broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute of the match and provided his team with a lead before half-time. Five minutes after the break, Darvin Nunez made it 2-0 and put the United defence under pressure. Meanwhile, Gakpo came with a beautiful brace just after 3 minutes after the second goal.

Mohamed Salah scored the 4th goal for the team, he also scored another goal in the match and become the leading goal-scorer for Liverpool with 129 goals. Nunez also scored a brace in the 75th minute of the match. Meanwhile, Roberto Firmino who didn’t renew his contract with Liverpool and will reportedly transfer to a different club came off the bench and scored the last goal of the match in the 88th minute to make it 7-0.

I’m pretty sure this team will still do great things: Bruno Fernandes

Meanwhile, United’s skipper Bruno Fernandes talked about the match in the post-match interview and said that they will bounce back again as they know how good they are. He said that they have done much better than what they did on Sunday and will get back on track in the next match.

“We’ve had setbacks in the past and we have to come back again because this is what Manchester United is about. We can go down but we have to get back up because we know how good we are. We know that today we didn’t show and we didn’t perform at our level, but we know this team is really good and can do really good things. Today, that was not the case but I’m pretty sure this team will still do great things together with the fans that I have to appreciate for their support.” Bruno Fernandes was quoted as saying by Sky Sports after the match.

“We have set a really good standard for ourselves, now it’s just about getting back to that because the fans deserve that and we deserve that. We have done much better than today in the past and we will do much better in the future.”
