A little more than three months are left in the start of the ODI World Cup 2023. On June 27, the tentative schedule was confirmed by the Apex Council. Notably, the changes regarding the venues suggested by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) were outrightly rejected. Meanwhile, now as the schedule has arrived, the Apex Council is looking to make match tickets available on July 1.

It is anticipated that the tickets for India vs Pakistan game are expected to be sold out in minutes. Not to forget, in the last few years, the tickets for India-Pakistan games in the World Cups (ODI and T20) and Asia Cups have sold out within half an hour. Meanwhile, an Indian Cricket Board official has said that the schedule might be tweaked.

Notably, the change might happen to take the account Pakistan getting permission from their government. Given the India and Pakistan political scenario, both teams need permission from their respective governments to play in each other’s countries. Meanwhile, in the 2016 T20 World Cup, the India vs Pakistan game was shifted out of Mohali to Kolkata due to tensions and protests against Pakistan team due to Pathankot attack.

“There are a few last-minute details to be finalised. We are trying to make the entire experience digital. We are in talks with the partners. Ticket details should be out by next week,” a senior Indian Cricket Board official told InsideSport.

On the other hand, the board’s official also spoke about the sudden surge in Hotel price during the India-Pakistan on October 15.

“Yes, we are aware of the complaints by fans on the difficulties. But not everything can be controlled. High hotel prices are not in our control,” the official added.
