Ruturaj Gaikwad will Indian men’s cricket team in the Asian Games 2023.
The craze of cricket has now reached the Asian Games 2023 which is scheduled to be conducted in China. After the schedule for the Asian Games 2023 were revealed, then the Indian cricket board also went on to announce their squad for the Asian Games. The cricket tournament will be commencing on September 19 and will be played till October 7.
The squad announced by the Indian board hence shows that only the probable players will be playing in the world cup and not the main team as they would be busy in the preparation of the World Cup 2023 which is set to be played on Indian soil from October 5. Ruturaj Gaikwad is selected for leading the Indian side in the Asian Games.
In the recent turn of events, there has been an image of Hangzhou cricket stadium in China which is also the venue for the Asian Games has been surfacing on the internet. The dimensions of the Cricket Ground are quite small compared to the ground which is generally used for international cricket. The dimensions are; 55m shorter side as well as 63-65m square of the wicket and 68m down the ground.

While the Indian cricket board has named a full-strength women’s squad for the Asian Games, the men’s team features some exciting young talents like Shivam Dube, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Prabhsimran Singh, and Rinku Singh. The 2023 edition of the ODI World Cup will be getting underway just two days prior to the conclusion of the Asian Games cricket tournament.
Hence, the selected team for the World Cup is rather new and there are several players in the squad who haven’t yet represented the Indian cricket team on the International. Therefore, representing the Indian team in the Asian Games will certainly be a sense of honour for selected players. The selection of the India team is exciting because all the top performers from the Indian Premier League have been included in the side.
