Over the years, teams have bludgeoned bowling attacks in the 15 seasons of the IPL.
Over the 15 years of the IPL, there have been many teams that have bludgeoned bowling attacks in some of the games. Even though there have been a lot of games in which bowlers haven’t let opposition batters dominate them. On the other hand, there have been games in which the bowling attacks didn’t have many answers to their opposition’s batting prowess.

1. Royal Challengers Bangalore
The three-time finalists turned up the heat in the IPL 2023 game against now-defunct Pune Warriors India in Bengaluru. After the game was delayed by rain, it started without the overs being deducted. Meanwhile, thanks to Chris Gayle’s 175 not-out and useful innings from Tillkaratne Dilshan, and AB de Villiers, the team reached 263/5, the highest team total so far.
2. Lucknow Super Giants
In the ongoing game against Punjab Kings, the KL Rahul-led side has amassed the second-highest score. After being asked to bat first, the Blue Brigade got 257/5, thanks to half-centuries from Kyle Mayers and Marcus Stoinis, and cameos from Ayush Badoni, and Nicholas Pooran. The team is set to win the game by a huge margin.
3. Royal Challengers Bangalore
In the reverse fixture against the now-defunct Gujarat Lions in 2016, the then Virat Kohli-led side lost the wicket of Chris Gayle early. After this, the likes of Kohli and AB de Villers hit individual hundreds, a rare occasion in T20 cricket. The Green Brigade, RCB amassed 248/3.
4. Chennai Super Kings
In the reverse fixture against Rajasthan Royals in 2010, Murali Vijay scored his maiden IPL hundred. Apart from this, Albie Morkel scored fifty and helped the team reach 246/5. In reply, the 2008 winners tried well and reached 223/5, losing the game by 23 runs.
5. Kolkata Knight Riders
The two-time winners bludgeoned the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in the 44th game of the IPL 2018. Batting first, the team reached 245/6, thanks to Sunil Narine (75). Andre Russell (31), and Dinesh Karthik (50). In reply, the 2014 finalists tried hard but could only reach 214/8, losing to 31 runs.
