In the second playoff match (Eliminator) of the ongoing IPL 2023, Mumbai Indians will lock horns with Lucknow Super Giants. The winner of this game will take on the defending champions, Gujarat Titans on May 26. Talking about the virtual quarterfinal, the five-time winners don’t have the best of records against the 2022 debutants. MI have lost all their three games against LSG since last year.

Not to forget, the Rohit Sharma-led side lost to the Super Giants in the last phase of the league stage in the ongoing season. Talking about the Krunal Pandya-led side, they have been accustomed to playing on a dry surface that will be on offer in Chepauk. Not to forget, they had one at their home ground in Lucknow. On the other hand, MI is more suited to playing on good batting surfaces on which the ball comes on nicely.

Meanwhile, in this listicle, we will discuss the five players to watch out for in the upcoming game.

1. Piyush Chawla

The discarded India leggie has been the highest wicket-taker and the only successful bowler for MI. Not to forget, the team has been suffering from experienced bowling resources. The 2011 World Cup winner has taken 20 wickets and has been in the fifth spot in the Purple Cap race. With the kind of wicket on offer, his performance will matter a lot.

2. Ravi Bishnoi

The LSG leggie hasn’t been one of the top wicket-takers but has 16 wickets which have been vital. He bowls with pace and the wicket at the venue will assist his bowling. If he can take wickets and bowl tough lengths, the Super Giants might do well.

3. Amit Mishra

The former India leggie hasn’t played a lot of games for the team in the recent past. However, with the game to be played in Chennai, Mishra might play in the game alongside Bishnoi and will make one of the lethal spin attacks.
