Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans will square off in game 57 of the IPL 2023 on May 12 (Friday). The match between MI and GT is slated to occur in the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In the points table for this year’s edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), MI is listed in the fourth position, whereas GT is listed at the top.

Both MI and GT will be playing in their twelfth game in the upcoming IPL 2023 contest. Gujarat Titans have been highly steady in this edition and have accumulated sixteen points with eight wins and three defeats in 11 matches. In contrast, Mumbai Indians have been inconsistent and have earned twelve points with six wins and five losses in eleven games.

Here are three players to watch out for as two Indian veterans – Rohit Sharma’s and Hardik Pandya‘s teams lock horns against each other.

3. Shubman Gill, Gujarat Titans

Shubman Gill has scored 469 runs in 11 games for the Titans, most in the tournament, with an average of 46.9 and a strike rate of 143.42. He received the Player of the Match award in the previous game after scoring 94 runs off 51 deliveries. Given his recent performance in matches, he is one of the players projected to perform in today’s MI vs GT encounter.

2. Mohammad Shami, Gujarat Titans

Mohammed Shami, who has taken 19 wickets overall at an average of 16.36, an economy of 7.23, and a strike rate of 13.57, is the second-leading wicket-taker in the competition and the most productive bowler for the Titans. He only trails Yuzvendra Chahal of Rajasthan Royals who surpassed him on Thursday in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders. Therefore, he is one of the players anticipated to do well in the MI vs GT game today.

1. Suryakumar Yadav, Mumbai Indians

Suryakumar Yadav scored 83 runs off just 35 deliveries in the previous game to earn his first Player of the Match award of the year. In 11 games, he scored 376 runs overall, averaging 34.18 and striking at 186.13. Because of this, it is anticipated that he will perform similarly to how he did in his last couple of matches and try to repeat the same in today’s MI vs GT encounter in the Wankhede Stadium on Friday.
