Indian T20 League: Three players who can replace Nathan Coulter-Nile

Rajasthan pacer, Nathan Coulter-Nile has been ruled of the entire season of the ongoing 15th edition of the Indian T20 League 2022. He played the first game for the team and bowled three overs before injuring his knee. The right-arm pacer was taken off the field and the over was bowled by Riyan Parag. The Australian seamer didn’t play any game for the team thereafter.

Pacer Navdeep Saini replaced him in the next two games. The Western Australia-born was hoped to recover but his injury became worse which led to him being ruled out for the rest of the season. In this listicle, we will discuss three players who can replace the 34-year-old.

Players who can replace Nathan Coulter-Nile for the rest of the season

  1. Ben Dwarshius

The left-arm pacer from New South Wales is immensely experienced in T20 cricket. In the 97 games, he played for Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League (BBL) and his state team, the 27-year-old has picked 117 wickets, averaging 23.94 and has an economy of 8.32.

Notably, he has been part of the Delhi and Punjab teams before but never got the opportunity to feature in the playing XI. The Australian cricketer is also a handy batter down the order. The left-hander has hit 420 runs, striking at 126.88 with the highest score of 66.

2. Colin de Grandhomme

The New Zealand all-rounder has played 231 T20s and 41 T201s from 2007 to 2022. With the ball, the Kiwi has 69 and 12 scalps to his name respectively. Talking about his numbers with the bat, the right-hander has amassed 3817 runs, striking at 157.92 and hit 505 at 138.35 in domestic and international T20s respectively. Notably, the former Zimbabwe U19 player has also played the Indian T20 League for Kolkata and Bangalore. The 35-year-old has played 21 games and has scored 303 runs at 134.66 and also picked six wickets. Currently, he is available to play as his national side has completed their home season.

3. Ben Cutting

The all-rounder from Queensland is one of the sought players in the T20 leagues across the globe. He has played in the BBL, Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Global T20 League Canada and the Indian T20 League. The right-hander has played 194 games combined and has scored 2718 runs at a strike rate of 147.87. With the ball, the right-arm bowler has picked 130 wickets. In the Indian T20 League, he has played 21 games and has amassed 238 runs, striking at 168.79. Talking about his bowling, he has 10 wickets to his name.
