Indian T20 League enters Guinness Book of World Records

The record was made during the closing ceremony of the Indian T20 League 2022

Ahead of the final match of the Indian T20 League 2022, the league has created a world record for creating the biggest jersey. Ahead of the ongoing game between Gujarat and Rajasthan, a closing ceremony was conducted by the BCCI. This was the first time since 2017 when the closing ceremony was conducted for the tournament. The ceremony was graced with the presence of Bollywood stars such as actor Ranveer Singh and veteran musician A R Rahman.

The event saw them dancing and singing respectively, with the cultural events as well. During the event, an official Indian T20 League jersey was unveiled with the help of volunteers as it was huge. The jersey had the logos of all 10 teams which played in the 15th season. on the top left of the jersey, the league’s logo and the BCCI’s logo are on the top right respectively.

It has entered the book of Guinness Book of World Records as it has became the largest shirt in the world. More than 1,00,00 people from the stadium and millions on the television saw history being made. Talking about the ongoing final of the season, Rajasthan won the toss and elected to bat first given the pressure of the scoreboard which might come into play in the second innings.

The team had a mixed start as Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 22 off 16 including two sixes and a four, was batting in two different way. During one stage, he played some lovely shots. However, he looked very nervous in the other part of his innings. He got out when the scorecard read 31 runs in four overs. Skipper Sanju Samson came and stitched a partnership of 29 runs with Jos Buttler before he was dismissed by his opposite number right after the break.

Buttler is batting at 34 and Devdutt Padikkal has come out to bat at the time of writing. The team will be looking to win the title and pay their tributes to their former skipper and late Shane Warne.
