Indian T20 League 2023: Three players who might be in high demand in mini-auction
One of the players ended up as the Player of the Tournament in the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
With the Indian T20 League mini-auction for 2023 set to take place on December 23, in Kochi, franchises have their eyes set on the players that they went to rope into their team. Sam Curran, who outclassed in the recently concluded 20-20 World Cup 2022, eventually won the Player of the Tournament award after racking up 13 wickets and he might bag the highest bit in the mini-auction.
While fans hope that the Chennai franchise would go all out for the allrounder, it remains to see if other franchises would shatter the hopes of the team. We decided to pick out three players who might bag the highest bid in the auction set to take place in a few week time.
Here are the three players who might bag the highest bid in the Indian T20 League 2023 mini-auction:
3) Rilee Rossouw
Rilee Rossouw proved his worth for South Africa when the batter scored a century in the 20-20 World Cup 2022 against Bangladesh eventually letting the Proteas clinch the win by 104 runs. The southpaw could end up attracting the highest bid in the mini-auction and it remains to see on which team he could end up landing.
With over 6500 runs in 269 T20s, Rossouw has a strike rate of 143.44 and since his return to international cricket, the left-handed batter has gathered 372 runs in 11 T20Is, making him one of the attractive players for the upcoming edition.
2) Cameron Green
The allrounder from Australia eventually made it to the squad for the 20-20 World Cup 2022 and the youngster proved his worth during the series against India prior to the start of the showpiece event down south.
With just a few weeks to go for the auction, Green might already be under the radar and might end up bagging the highest bid in the mini-auction to be held in Kochi. Green can fit into any team and can single-handedly take the game away from the opposition on his day.
1) Sam Curran
The allrounder from England was released by the Chennai franchise ahead of the 2022 edition and it remains to see if he would make a comeback in the franchise in the upcoming edition. However, as the player is in the best of his forms, Chennai might have to compete with a few other teams in the mini-auction and Curran might as well bag the highest bid.
Fans, who await the retention list, which will be released on November 15, Tuesday, hope that the Chennai franchise would have enough purse amount to bag the player. However, Curran might find himself representing a different team given the demand for him at present is pretty high.
